Fastwebs Basic

Fastwebs Basic is a professional design tool and web publishing system, with online-store functionality if you need it. It includes all the functionality you would expect from a modern web publishing tool. Even so, the system is flexible and very easy to use. Fastwebs Basic is suitable for both large and small companies. A web hotel (hosting service) of 2 GB is included, which should be enough for most needs. Moreover, there are no limitations to the number of pages, articles or products you can add.

What makes Fastwebs different from other solutions?
First of all - of course the price. Professional websolutions are expensive! With Fastwebs, both the design tool and the web hotel (hosting service) are included in addition to the web publishing system and online store. You do not need to be an expert: You just need to know how to use a PC or Mac. Most other solutions (such as Wordpress, Joomla and EZ-publish) require web-design expertise in order to achieve good results, and they also require you to set up the solution in a web hotel (hosting service), with a database and so on. With other free solutions (e.g. Webs.com) you have to put up with lots of adverts on your webpages, but with Fastwebs there are no adverts.

Fastwebs Basic also includes a very powerful search-engine optimisation tool. This is a tool that helps you to increase the traffic to your website, without having to purchase expensive subscriptions to Yellow Pages etc. The module allows you to optimise your website to maximise attention from the search engines. It is also an editorial support tool that helps you to use the most important keywords. When a user searches for a relevant term, your website will be visible in the ranked search results (e.g. on the left-hand side on Google), and using the tool you also have the option to determine what Google and other search engines will say about your company.

The design tool provides you with an intuitive and user-friendly way to design your own website. It includes a range of layouts, backgrounds, colours, images, etc. which you can use together with your logo and your own images to create your own online presence. You use a web publishing system (CMS) to update the content of your webpages. The solution has a WYSIWYG interface, similar to Word, giving you control at all times over what you publish.

Everything is browser-based, and it makes no difference which operating system (Windows, Mac, Linux) or browser you use. The solution includes a number of modules, including one for automatic image resizing.

The CMS system enables you to:

• Create multiple menus on your webpages: you can have both horizontal menus (with drop-down submenus) and vertical, expanding menus.
• It is easy to move the menu items around.
• Edit text on your webpages in a WYSIWYG interface, similar to Word, with fonts, tables, columns, bulleted lists, spell check (various languages) 
• Edit news items with headlines, introductory text and content (“Read more…”) 
• Image management: Upload images and include them on your webpages with automatic adjustment for web use image resizing
• Document management: upload PDFs, Word files, Flash animations, videos and other documents
• Link management: add links to other websites or internal pages, e-mail links, etc.
• Cross-publish the same content to multiple areas of the web solution
• Relate articles to each other, type "See also"
• Functionality to hide or show menus and content
• Form generator to create contact forms etc. Preview function
• Version management, to allow you to go back to a previous saved version of a page.
• Undo function

The product catalogue allows you to:

• Create a product-group hierarchy on multiple levels 
• Unlimited number of products, with a short description and a long description (e.g. a datasheet), large and small images, two article numbers, other information in tables, etc. The view automatically adjusts to the amount of information stored in the product group. For example, if no price has been entered for the products then that column will not be shown. The products are shown first in list format. If more information is required the user can click on “More information”
• Option to show prices with or without VAT, and to use different VAT rates for different products
• Search engine for free-text search within the database

Online-store functionality

This is a complete web shop for the B2C market. It is user-friendly, and it has proved that it does the job it sells! It has a very user-friendly shopping basket function: it takes only four clicks to place an order. In addition, it enables you to:

• Display products on the front page, on special offer pages and news pages
• Both registered and unregistered users can make purchases
• Notification is sent to the order administrator and the purchaser by e-mail that the order has been received.
• Registered customers have full access to view their orders, whether their current order or old orders that have been placed and/or delivered, and can follow the status of their orders by e-mail and on the website.
• The order administration module gives you a complete view of all orders, sorted by status and date. Orders may also be exported to Excel
• The customer can choose whether the prices are shown with or without VAT
• Stock level that counts down; functionality to hide products temporarily if they are sold out
